Travers Smith Welcomes New Funds Partner Tosin Adeyeri
Travers Smith Welcomes New Funds Partner Tosin Adeyeri
Travers Smith LLP has bolstered its Asset Management client offering with the hire of Tosin Adeyeri as a partner in the Funds group, further strengthening its expertise in private funds formation and secondaries work.
Prior to joining the firm, Adeyeri was a member of US-headquartered law firm Proskauer Rose’s private funds group and has also previously held roles with Kirkland & Ellis, Schulte Roth & Zabel and Fasken.
Her experience includes representing investors globally on establishing and structuring private investment funds and advising on secondary portfolio transactions.
Adeyeri has dealt with international and UK fund managers and has advised on a variety of issues, including ongoing fund maintenance and internal governance organisation.
Head of Travers' funds group Aaron Stocks said: “We are delighted to welcome Tosin to the Funds group as a partner. Tosin's arrival will help us to take advantage of the many opportunities we are seeing, across the private fund’s formation and secondaries market, which are areas of strategic importance to the firm as we look to meet the needs of our clients.”
Adeyeri added: “I am very excited to be joining Travers Smith as a partner. The platform offered by Travers Smith to advise on innovative transactions within the asset management sector is compelling and I look forward to working with the many markets leading asset management specialists within the firm.”
Rory Smith, of Brickfield Recruitment, which specialises in the funds sector, noted that Adeyeri’s hire reflected an uptick in demand for lawyers at some law firms in the UK and the US, especially firms with a strong background in NAV (net asset value) deals, following a period of caution sparked by a wave of regional bank failures in the US.
Smith said: “Good associates are in demand, with salaries still competitive and sign-on bonuses on the table. Any partner in the fund finance market that brings across portable business and a good book of relationships is of interest to most active fund finance practices.”
Her arrival bolsters the bench of partners covering both primary fundraising and secondaries transactions.
Alongside the market leading reutilization and asset management M&A practices, the Travers Smith Funds group offers General Partners advice on all key aspects of their business needs.
