Tech and Data expert Alexander Duisberg joins Ashurst as Partner in Germany
He is regularly invited to government initiatives and think tanks that contribute to the law-making process for the EU digital strategy
Global law firm Ashurst has hired tech and data expert Alexander Duisberg as a partner in the corporate practice in Munich, Germany to boost its digital economy team.
Duisberg possesses over 25 years of experience in advising clients on tech, data, and the structuring and regulation of the digital economy. His particular focus lies in the automotive & mobility, Industry 4.0, technology and healthcare, and finance and insurance industries.
Speaking on his appointment, Jorge Vázquez, the global co-head of corporate remarked, "We are pleased to welcome Duisberg to our leading global corporate practice. His skill set will fuel continued momentum in our transactional business. I am confident that he will thrive on our platform."
Maintaining that Duisberg's hire will further solidify the firm's Munich office and the wider German practice, Derk Opitz, the Germany managing partner said, "We are delighted that Duisberg is joining us. His arrival, which follows that of partner Martin Eimer, who joined the Munich dispute resolution practice in May, is consistent with our sustained focus on investing in our German practice. It allows us to further develop our digital economy offering in Germany."
Nick Elverston, the co-head of the digital economy practice added, "The digital economy and helping our clients deal with the challenges of digital transformation are areas of key strategic focus for Ashurst, across our geographies and practice areas. Duisberg is a hugely valuable addition to our team as we expand in mainland Europe."

Duisberg specializes in digital transformation projects and data-driven business models, advising on legal aspects related to several spheres including blockchain, cyber-security, data spaces, AI, connected driving and innovative mobility concepts.
