On her joining, Connie Heng, the regional managing partner for Asia Pacific at Clifford Chance commented, "We are delighted to welcome Cramer to lead our multi-disciplinary tech group in APAC, which delivers expert and holistic legal advice to both tech and non-tech clients on their most complex tech-related matters. Paul Landless, the global co-head of the firm's tech group, added, "Cramer's diverse technology expertise, integrated into our unique cross-practice tech group, will bring significant benefits for clients as they develop their businesses in light of the new technologies, digital disruptions, regulatory shifts, and heightened enforcement. Meanwhile, commenting on the opportunities in Singapore, Valerie Kong, the country's managing partner at the firm, added, "With Singapore's efforts in driving digital innovation across industries, as announced in the 2023 Budget, we will continue to see market-first matters led out the region, as we have recently witnessed with Project Guardian and Partior.
Kong further stated, "Cramer's undisputed experience in Singapore, combined with our market-leading transactional and financial regulatory practices, means we are well-positioned to support the country's ambition and the expected growth in complex digital and transformational technology projects to be undertaken by clients in the region."
Cramer commented, "Clifford Chance has an impressive global network of technology specialists and continues to grow significantly in Asia Pacific, with ambitions very much aligned with my expertise and experience. The firm's global tech group has advised on a long list of market-leading matters in Asia Pacific, and I look forward to building on the team's success."
She guides clients on global data compliance programs, the commercialization of data, and high-profile cyber incidents. Cramer has advised on significant fintech projects and was involved in the set-up of industry sandboxes. She also serves on specialist advisory committees covering the regulation of data, blockchain, and artificial intelligence in Singapore and regionally.
Earlier, she held in-house roles at two global banks focussing on technology, data, and digitalization projects across multiple jurisdictions. Of late, she was working with Norton Rose Fulbright.
Clifford Chance's tech group serves as a single global team offering clients tech law advice across the spectrum of matters related to technology and digitalization, including advising on artificial intelligence, digital assets, green technologies, data, cybersecurity, and Web3.
