Rajah & Tann Deputy Managing Partner appointed as Senior Counsel of the Supreme Court of Singapore
Rajah & Tann Deputy Managing Partner appointed as Senior Counsel of the Supreme Court of Singapore
Kelvin Poon, Deputy Managing Partner and Head of the International Arbitration Practice at Rajah & Tann Singapore (R&T) has been named Senior Counsel of the Supreme Court of Singapore, according to a statement from R&T.
By adding Kelvin, the company increased its Senior Counsel count to eight, solidifying its position as Singapore's largest Senior Counsel firm.
A limited number of advocates known as senior counsel have shown their excellent advocacy talents, professional reliability and legal competence.
"We are tremendously happy of Kelvin's appointment as Senior Counsel, which reflects to his great legal talents and his promise to counselling his younger colleagues," said Patrick Ang, Managing Partner of R&T. "I would like to congratulate Kelvin on this well-deserved appointment on behalf of everyone at the company."
In the fields of international arbitration, building, and general commercial litigation, Kelvin has more than two decades of experience. Legal directories like Benchmark Litigation and The Legal 500 have recognized him as a top attorney in these fields for his involvement in numerous high-profile domestic and international arbitration matters.
He is a member of the ICC Commission for Arbitration and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Kelvin stated, "I am incredibly honored to be given the position of Senior Counsel. Although the rank is in my name, it really is a tribute to the toil and commitment of my colleagues and mentors who have helped and advised me during my career. I am appreciative to be a member of Rajah & Tann's creative and reputable team, and look forward to mentoring my younger coworkers as they advance in their careers."
