Rajah & Tann has named Paul Ng as a Partner to lead the firm’s Aviation Practice in Singapore. Ng comes to Rajah & Tann from the Milbank.
Under his guidance, Rajah & Tann's Aviation Practice will benefit from the collaboration of a diverse team of lawyers with experience in the aviation sector. This team's capabilities span a range of corporate and regulatory aspects, encompassing tasks as varied as overseeing international airport contract administration to tackling intricate ground operations issues.
Ng's extensive legal background encompasses the entire breadth of aviation, spanning aircraft leasing and acquisition, maritime asset leasing, rolling stock and movable asset leasing, tax-based and Islamic finance, IPOs, and export credit. His clientele includes prominent lenders, leasing enterprises, borrowers, lessees, airlines, and arrangers, showcasing his adeptness in providing comprehensive legal counsel across these areas.
Furthermore, he has successfully cultivated a robust client portfolio comprising significant investors, lenders, both operating and finance lessors, borrowers, lessees/airlines, and arrangers across a diverse array of banking, finance, and leasing transactions spanning Asia, Europe, and the United States.
Before becoming part of Rajah & Tann, Ng held the position of a partner at Milbank in Singapore for nine years, where he spearheaded the aviation and asset finance practice in Asia. Earlier he was associated with Stephenson Harwood for five years and had an 11-year stint as partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
Leveraging his three decades of experience, Ng has guided a multitude of aviation transactions, spanning some of the industry's largest, most intricate and ground-breaking ventures. He played a key role in facilitating the inaugural insurance-backed aircraft financing and also pioneered the first multi-tier Islamic financing for an acquisition in Asia.
