O'Melveny Rebuilds Singapore Presence with Key Partner Hires from Hogan Lovells
O'Melveny Rebuilds Singapore Presence with Key Partner Hires from Hogan Lovells
U.S. law firm O'Melveny & Myers has re-established its presence in Singapore by hiring Stephanie Keen and Sylvia Taslim as partners from Hogan Lovells. This marks the firm's first on-the-ground partnership in the city-state in several years.
Both Keen and Taslim specialize in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and private equity. Keen, previously the head of Hogan Lovells' Asia-Pacific private equity and corporate finance practices, has nearly 30 years of experience. She has advised corporations, lenders, and private equity sponsors on leveraged buyouts, cross-border transactions, mergers, acquisitions, equity offerings, and corporate restructurings. Keen spent 18 years at Hogan
Lovells, including a term as managing partner in Singapore, and had earlier roles at Fried Frank and Ashurst. Taslim, with almost two decades of experience, focuses on cross-border M&A, joint ventures, public takeovers, private equity transactions, and venture capital investments, particularly in the energy sector. She joined Hogan Lovells in 2021 after stints at King & Spalding, Clifford Chance, and Allen & Gledhill.
Commenting on the hires, O’Melveny’s chair, Bradley J. Butwin, noted the rising demand for top-tier legal advisors in Singapore due to increasing transactional activity in South and Southeast Asia. "Our clients will immediately benefit from their deep experience and exceptional talent," he said.
O’Melveny has hired 23 lateral partners globally since 2023, including 14 in corporate law. Meanwhile, Hogan Lovells now has seven partners in Singapore, led by head of infrastructure Matt Bubb, who joined in September 2023.
