Nishimura & Asahi Welcomes Accomplished Lawyer Jason Jose R. Jiao as a Partner
Experienced attorney Jason Jose R. Jiao assumed the role of Partner at Nishimura & Asahi in Japan effective December 1, 2023.
Jason, a lawyer qualified in both the Philippines and New York, provides counsel to both public and private enterprises on corporate and commercial issues, with a specific focus on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and reorganisations. Notably, he holds the distinction of being the inaugural Philippine-qualified partner to join Nishimura & Asahi’s Japan offices. Jason's extensive expertise extends across a variety of sectors, covering Construction & Infrastructure, Consumer & Retail, Energy, FinTech, Life Sciences, Manufacturing & Industrial, and Private Equity.
With the experience of nearly two decades of legal practice in Japan, Jason previously served as a partner at a prominent Japanese law firm before joining Nishimura & Asahi. His legal career began in the Philippines, where he worked as a litigation lawyer at one of the country's largest law firms. During this period, he specialized in handling intricate commercial litigation and various corporate disputes.
Before joining Nishimura & Asahi, Jason served as a partner at Oh-Ebashi LPC & Partners for approximately eight years. His legal career commenced in 2002 at Angara Abello Concepcion Regala and Cruz Law Offices (ACCRALAW) in Manila.
