Macfarlanes secures Peter Chapman as partner in the investment management group

He was serving at Sidley Austin for the past 11 years

London-based law firm Macfarlanes has hired Peter Chapman for the investment management team as a partner.

Chapman advises private fund sponsors across a range of asset classes including private credit and equity, growth capital, venture capital, hedge funds, fund formation, and management structuring. Having worked on GP-stake deals and secondary transactions, he also advises major institutional investors on private fund allocations, co-investments, and LP portfolio sales.

Sebastian Prichard Jones, the Senior Partner at Macfarlanes described Chapman as “a highly talented practitioner.” He added that Chapman’s fund structuring expertise “would strengthen our private capital offering and its place at the core of our firm.”

Chapman has been serving at Sidley Austin for the past 11 years and recently became a Senior Associate.
