Linklaters appoints Christian Saunders as senior consultant in Middle East
He was a partner with Allen & Overy in the United Arab Emirates
Retired banking and restructuring lawyer, Christian Saunders has been hired by Linklaters as a senior consultant in the Middle East banking practice.
With more than two decades of experience, Saunders’ practice focuses on advising creditors, corporates, and other stakeholders on aspects of market-leading financing transactions and restructurings.
On his joining, Kieron Zaman, the Middle East head of banking at Linklaters remarked, “We are excited to welcome Saunders onboard. Over the course of his long career, he has built a strong reputation in the Middle East advising on new loans and debt restructuring in all sectors and product areas. I am confident that his skills and insights will boost our already well-established Middle East banking practice and his collaborative spirit will inspire our next generation of lawyers.”
Saunders is widely recognised in the Middle East as a prominent banking and restructuring lawyer. Previously, he headed the Middle East banking practice at Allen & Overy, the Magic Circle firm. Later he was a partner, until his retirement in 2021.
