Legal Solutions Adds Kevin Tan As Director To Strengthen Disputes Practice In Singapore
Legal Solutions Adds Kevin Tan as Director to Strengthen Disputes Practice in Singapore
Legal Solutions, the joint venture law firm of Kennedys in Singapore, has announced the appointment of Kevin Tan as a director specializing in commercial litigation and international arbitration.
Julian Wallace and Kevin Kwek, the joint managing partners of Kennedys in Singapore, expressed their enthusiasm about Tan's arrival, stating, “Kevin’s arrival significantly bolsters our Singapore disputes practice and enhances our ability to provide specialist expertise in energy and commodities arbitrations. Attracting a senior lawyer of Kevin’s calibre and experience is an exciting development for our Singapore office, highlighting our commitment to investing in our future and providing best-in-class support for both our local and cross-border clients.”
Tan joins Legal Solutions from Rajah & Tann, one of Singapore’s largest law firms. He brings extensive experience in commercial disputes across various sectors, including commodities, energy, and technology. His practice encompasses a wide range of issues, such as joint venture disputes, oil and gas matters, shipping litigation, and cross-border arbitration related to shareholder conflicts, investor-state disputes, fraud, and employment issues.
In addition to his litigation work, Tan is actively involved in the global arbitration community. He serves as the vice-chair of the International Chamber of Commerce’s Singapore Arbitration Group and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He also acts as an arbitrator for prominent institutions, including the Singapore International Arbitration Centre and the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre.
This appointment follows Kennedys’ earlier recruitment of Mark Errington to lead the firm’s property, construction, and energy division in the region in April.
