Kirkland & Ellis Adds Marwa Elborai As Partner In Capital Markets Group In London
She earlier served at Allen & Overy for over a year
Kirkland & Ellis has appointed Marwa Elborai as a Partner in the Capital Markets Group in London.
The US-qualified lawyer focuses on high-yield bonds, complex corporate financings and leveraged finance transactions. She advises corporate, private equity, credit fund and financial institution clients across multiple jurisdictions. With an emphasis on U.S. federal securities laws, she also advises on general debt and equity capital markets transactions and debt restructurings.
Elborai worked with Shearman & Sterling for 16 years, after which she joined Allen & Overy, which is set for a merger with Shearman & Sterling.
Commenting on her addition, Jon Ballis, the chairman of Kirkland’s executive committee stated, “Elborai is one of the most well-known and leading high-yield lawyers in the European market. We look forward to her joining our top-tier London capital markets team.”
Kirkland & Ellis comprises 3,500 lawyers. Its capital markets group is considered one of the largest high-yield practices in Europe. The team focuses on cross-border offerings of high-yield bonds, liability management and restructuring transactions. Its prestigious clients include Bain Capital, Blackstone and TDR Capital.
