Kimberly-Clark Welcomes Back Grant McGee as General Counsel
Kimberly-Clark Welcomes Back Grant McGee as General Counsel
Kimberly-Clark Corporation, the household products giant known for brands like Kleenex, Huggies and Andrex, announced the return of Grant McGee as its General Counsel, effective February 1st, 2024. He succeeds Jeff Melucci, who will now dedicate his full attention to his role as chief business and transformation officer.
McGee, a familiar face within Kimberly-Clark, served as deputy general counsel before joining American Airlines in 2022 as vice president, deputy general counsel, and corporate secretary. He brings back nearly seven years of experience with the company, having risen through the ranks from associate GC to senior deputy GC. Prior to Kimberly-Clark, McGee honed his legal skills at GE Aviation, managing M&A activities and acting as GC for various business units. He began his career specialising in M&A and securities at Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom.
Mike Hsu, Chairman and CEO of Kimberly-Clark, expressed his confidence in McGee's return. "Grant's deep understanding of our company and industry, coupled with his proven legal expertise, make him an ideal choice to lead our legal and compliance teams," Hsu stated. "We are thrilled to welcome him back and collaborate as we drive the next phase of our growth strategy."
McGee echoed Hsu's enthusiasm, emphasising his commitment to Kimberly-Clark's vision. "I'm excited to rejoin this purpose-driven company and contribute to bringing that purpose to life for our consumers and stakeholders," he said. "Working alongside Mike, Jeff, and the talented teams around the world will be a privilege."
While stepping back from the general counsel role, Melucci remains a crucial member of the executive leadership team. He will leverage his extensive experience, including over a decade with Kimberly-Clark, to focus on strategic business transformation initiatives.
McGee will report directly to Melucci, ensuring a seamless transition and continued collaboration. This leadership shift positions Kimberly-Clark to navigate the legal landscape effectively while accelerating its growth trajectory.
