Israni specialises in providing comprehensive counsel on various commercial real estate matters, encompassing senior debt and mezzanine financing, joint ventures, purchase and sale transactions, loan sale agreements, fintech issues, and lease agreements. His diverse client portfolio includes institutional and non-institutional investors, such as private equity funds, real estate investment companies, and REITs. Additionally, he brings valuable experience as the former deputy general counsel for an acclaimed investment platform that concentrated on real estate debt.
"Ankush has worked on a diverse range of real estate private equity and real estate finance transactions and has experience in both private and corporate practice," said Bob Lee, Co-Leader of the firm's Real Estate Practice.
"His track record of advising clients across various real estate asset classes is an important addition to our practice and will be valuable to our clients in California and worldwide," Lee added.
Ankush now joins a dynamic global team of 120 lawyers within Jones Day's Real Estate Practice. This team offers clients extensive legal expertise and solutions for various business opportunities, leveraging their collective experience in the global real estate industry. "Ankush's broad experience is a great fit here as the lawyers in our Southern California offices have represented leading capital providers in some of the most significant matters in the region for five decades. I am pleased to welcome Ankush to our team here in Los Angeles," said David DiMeglio, Partner-in-Charge of the Los Angeles Office.
Israni earned his law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and his undergraduate degree from California State University at Fullerton.
"I have always respected the way that Jones Day's lawyers collaborate through multidisciplinary and cross-border teams to serve clients in all areas of the real estate industry," said Israni.
"This commitment to one firm worldwide is a distinctive culture in the legal profession and I look forward to serving my clients with these new colleagues," Israni added.
