Jeff Cody And Peter Scott Named Global Managing Partners At Norton Rose Fulbright
Jeff Cody And Peter Scott Named Global Managing Partners At Norton Rose Fulbright
Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has announced a new leadership structure aimed at enhancing client service, promoting cross-regional collaboration, and boosting efficiency across its global operations. This updated model places regional service leaders at the forefront of the firm’s global business, ensuring a unified approach to success.
Under the new structure, Norton Rose Fulbright will be led by Global Managing Partners Jeff Cody, who also serves as the US Managing Partner, and Peter Scott, the Managing Partner for Europe, the Middle East, and Asia (EMEA). Together, Cody and Scott will spearhead the Global Management Committee, which includes Alison Deitz, Chief Executive of Australia; Jennifer Teskey, Managing Partner of Canada; and Brent Botha, Chief Executive Officer of South Africa.
These regional leaders will continue managing their respective regions while working closely together to create a seamless, integrated experience for both Norton Rose Fulbright clients and lawyers worldwide.
“We’ve streamlined our management approach to enhance efficiency and ensure that our global efforts are closely connected to our regional expertise,” said Jeff Cody. “This structure enables us to provide more seamless cross-border services and deliver exceptional results on both global and regional levels.”
The formal approval of this leadership model by Norton Rose Fulbright’s global committees is designed to improve coordination across regions, leading to better service delivery for international clients and more efficient operations. The firm has restructured how its regions collaborate, ensuring alignment in strategy while maintaining the flexibility to cater to local market needs.
Norton Rose Fulbright’s commitment to this integrated approach has already yielded positive results, with the firm experiencing an 8% increase in global revenue and a 5% rise in service demand over the past year. Multijurisdictional matters, particularly those using “follow-the-sun” models that span Europe, Africa, the Americas, and Asia-Pacific, have grown in areas such as corporate, M&A, securities, disputes, investigations, banking, and finance. Key sectors benefiting from this strategy include energy, infrastructure, financial institutions, transport, healthcare, technology, and consumer markets.
In addition to revenue growth, the firm has expanded its headcount, welcoming 51 lateral partners in the first half of 2024, with 22 joining in the US.
“This is about creating a more seamless, integrated, and connected global business,” said Peter Scott. “Our updated leadership model reflects the pioneering approach that has allowed Norton Rose Fulbright to transform the legal industry through its global combinations over the past 15 years.”
