Hidehiro Utsumi Joins Oh-Ebashi LPC & Partners As Tax Partner In Tokyo
Hidehiro Utsumi Joins Oh-Ebashi LPC & Partners as Tax Partner in Tokyo
Oh-Ebashi LPC & Partners has expanded its tax expertise with the appointment of Hidehiro Utsumi as a new partner in its Tokyo office. Utsumi, a seasoned tax professional, joins the firm from TMI Associates and is known for advising on Japan’s largest leveraged buyout and tender offer.
The management partners of Oh-Ebashi expressed confidence that Utsumi’s expertise will significantly enhance the firm’s tax practice. Additionally, they anticipate that his extensive experience will provide valuable contributions to the firm’s M&A and overseas investment practices, particularly from a tax planning perspective.
Utsumi began his legal career in 1996 at Nishimura & Partners, later holding partner roles at Linklaters and Allen & Overy (now A&O Shearman). In 2009, he moved to TMI Associates, where he served as a partner until joining Oh-Ebashi.
A tax and accounting expert, Utsumi is admitted to practice in both Japan and New York and is a certified public accountant in Japan and the US. Over the years, he has provided counsel on some of the largest cross-border transactions involving Japan.
