Greenberg Traurig Acted on Strategic Joint Venture Between GARBE and NREP’s Logicenters
Greenberg Traurig, the global law firm, provided legal counsel to GARBE Industrial Real Estate (GARBE) in creating a joint venture with NREP's Logicenters. The primary objective of this joint venture is to develop a sustainable logistics portfolio within Germany.
The initial undertaking involves a greenfield project situated in Straubing, Bavaria. Within this joint venture, the partners aim to construct a state-of-the-art, eco-friendly logistics facility spanning approximately 27,000 square meters. Remarkably, the warehouse will be entirely constructed from wood, adhering to the highest Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards. The anticipated completion date is set for the third quarter of 2025.
GARBE, headquartered in Hamburg and under owner management, engages in various real estate activities. These include property development, acquisitions, sales, leasing, financing, marketing, and management of logistics, industrial, and technology properties across Germany. Currently, GARBE oversees real estate assets valued at approximately €10 billion, covering around 6.5 million square meters of rental space and a project development pipeline spanning approximately 1.9 million square meters in both Germany and Europe.
Greenberg Traurig provided comprehensive legal counsel to GARBE Industrial Real Estate. They advised GARBE on both the joint venture agreement with NREP’s Logicenters and the execution of a development and asset management agreement with the joint venture entity.
