Dentons Lee Expands in South Korea: Insurance and Reinsurance Specialists Join the Team
Dentons Lee, the South Korean law firm affiliated with Dentons, has made significant additions to its team by hiring John JungKyum Kim and Christina Jiwon Park as co-heads of its newly established insurance and reinsurance practice. Both Kim and Park also serve as partners in the firm’s international dispute resolution team.
Kim brings over 20 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry. His career spans various in-house roles at prominent companies such as AIG, Reliance National Insurance, Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance, and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance. Additionally, Kim has contributed his legal expertise to several law firms, including Kim & Chang, Lee & Ko, and Shin & Kim. His advisory services extend to insurers, reinsurers, brokers, agents, and other participants in the insurance market.
Park, joining from the South Korean reinsurance giant Korean Re, specialises in finance, insurance, and reinsurance matters. Her legal practice covers dispute resolution within the South Korean courts, as well as handling commercial litigation, mediation, and arbitration related to financial transactions. Prior to her current role, Park served as a senior legal counsel at Korea Development Bank and was associated with the law firm Yulchon.
Dentons Lee, established in 2019 through unification between Dentons and Lee International, continues to strengthen its presence in South Korea with these strategic hires in the insurance and reinsurance domains.
