Bringing over 25 years of legal expertise to the table, Hayes is a highly acclaimed finance lawyer with an international reputation. He is well-versed in navigating a diverse array of transactions, including acquisitions, refinancings, restructurings, recapitalisations, and workouts. Throughout his career, Hayes has held prominent positions in several law firms based in London, New York, and Sydney.
Hayes' exceptional reputation stems from his extensive experience representing a diverse portfolio of cross-border clients. From global investment banks to commercial banks, private debt funds, lenders, venture capital, private equity firms, and corporations, his client roster spans a broad spectrum. Over the years, Hayes has been involved in numerous high-profile transactions, showcasing his expertise and prowess in the legal arena.
Notably, he played a crucial role in advising Blackstone on the debt financing of its monumental $26 billion acquisition of Hilton Hotels, a deal that garnered significant attention in the industry. Furthermore, Hayes was instrumental in advising an international consortium that included TPG and Macquarie on the debt financing of their AU$11 billion takeover bid for Qantas Airways.
