Clyde & Co expands in Saudi Arabia with new partner Mohammed Almarzouki
He will be based in the firm's Riyadh office in the global corporate & advisory practice
Global law firm Clyde & Co has announced hiring corporate commercial lawyer Mohammed Almarzouki as a partner in its Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.
In the last 18 months, the firm has bolstered its 24-strong MEA corporate partner group with several hires.
Almarzouki advises family businesses, investors, and corporations on M&A, JVs, capital markets and general corporate advisory matters. He is a licensed lawyer in Saudi Arabia, a qualified attorney in the State of New York, and a qualified solicitor in England and Wales.
On his appointment, Sara Khoja, the chair of Clyde & Co's MEA Board commented, “Almarzouki’s appointment is the latest milestone in the expansion of our on-the-ground corporate offering in Saudi Arabia. I am very pleased to welcome him directly following the recent appointment of Riyadh corporate partner Anas Alswailem.”
Naji Hawayek, the partner and head of Clyde & Co’s corporate practice in the Middle East added, "It is great to have Almarzouki on board. He has extensive experience advising multinationals and large family businesses operating in Jeddah, and he will play a key role in assisting us in bolstering our corporate capabilities across Saudi Arabia."
Almarzouki stated, "It is an exciting time to join Clyde & Co and I see significant synergies between my practice and the ambitions of my new colleagues. The legal landscape in Saudi Arabia continues to evolve, and there is a greater need for reliable and innovative legal advice. I look forward to working closely with the team and assisting our international and domestic clients."
Prior to joining Clyde & Co, he co-founded Alzawawi and Almarzouki Law Firm in Jeddah. He has also worked for Allen & Overy in the UK, Khoshaim & Associates in Saudi Arabia, and Saudi Arabian Airlines.
Clyde & Co is one of the largest international law firms in the Middle East and Africa, with over 80 partners and 490 staff on the ground providing a full-service combination of local and international specialists across key business sectors and practice areas.
The firm’s global corporate & advisory practice supports a wide range of clients on all aspects of corporate finance, including capital dealings, market listings, transactions, M&A, disposals and restructuring. It provides cross-border expertise in both mature and emerging markets. The firm’s experience spans major sectors including education, healthcare, hospitality, technology, marine, transport, energy, construction, commodities, and insurance.
