Clyde & Co Adds Ben Brown And David True In Dubai
Clyde & Co Adds Ben Brown And David True In Dubai
Both deal with laws related to the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf Cooperation Council
Clyde & Co has announced the appointment of Ben Brown as a Partner and David True as a Senior Associate in Dubai.
Brown has re-joined the firm after four years in the global employment group. His practice covers all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment laws in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
David advises clients on all contentious and non-contentious employment matters in the UAE and its free zones, including the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), and across the GCC.
Welcoming them, Sara Khoja, the Partner, and Head of MEA Employment Group, and MEA Chair of Clyde & Co stated, “Our employment group strategy focuses on aligning with market opportunities and our clients’ priorities ensure that we are best placed to support them. As the region grows through increased investment and employment regulatory reforms, we see an uptick in employment disputes and investigations. Having worked with Brown for a long time, I know his experience in complex and high-value employment disputes will enable us to align with the needs of our clients and market trends.”
Ben added, "Returning to Clyde & Co is a fantastic opportunity as it continues to expand its Middle East offering. The firm is highly regarded and well-established in the region, giving me and True an excellent platform to continue our success in advising the world’s high-profile companies on their employment matters, with a particular focus on complex and high-value employment disputes.”
Brown, who was earlier serving at Addleshaw Goddard, is recognized as a leading lawyer for complex and high-value employment disputes with a focus on high-stakes employment litigation in the DIFC and ADGM courts. Recently, he acted in major employment cases, including one of the first discrimination cases to go to trial under the DIFC Law No.2 of 2019, as amended, and the landmark Industrial Group Ltd v El Fadil case at the Court of Appeal.
On the other hand, True has been involved in several high-profile employment disputes in the DIFC and ADGM courts. His expertise lies in undertaking sensitive workplace investigations.
