Charles Russell Speechlys Boosts International Tax Practice By Hiring Kurt Rademacher, Ivan Lu, Timmoney Ng And Hara Kee
The team was previously serving at Butler Snow
Charles Russell Speechlys, the private client specialist, has strengthened its international tax practice in Asia by adding four lawyers - Kurt Rademacher, Ivan Lu, Timmoney Ng and Hara Kee.
While Rademacher and Lu worked as partners, Ng was a legal director and Hara Kee was a senior associate.
The four-lawyer tax team to join the recently launched Singapore office was earlier serving at US firm Butler Snow. US-qualified, they advise on US laws to clients based in the Asia-Pacific region having business or personal interests with the US and require integrated, locally sourced guidance on tax considerations.
While commenting on their appointment, Simon Ridpath, the managing partner at Charles Russell Speechlys stated, “The team’s combined knowledge of the firm and private capital will undoubtedly strengthen our position as a leader in the Asia market. The new team enhances our offering in Singapore and Hong Kong and gives an added edge to our private capital offering that we are establishing across our office network.”
Rademacher, who will lead the private client team, has expertise in international wealth transfer planning. He began his career at Butler Snow in the US in 2000. Later, he moved to Withers LLP, working at its London and Hong Kong offices for six years. In 2010, he rejoined Butler Snow.
Lu spent over seven years at Butler Snow. He specializes in high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families regarding estate planning. He has immense experience in representing US-connected families in Greater China and Southeast Asia regions and guides clients with IRS compliance and disclosures.
