Atsumi & Sakai Expands In Tokyo With New Finance And Corporate Partners
Atsumi & Sakai Expands In Tokyo With New Finance And Corporate Partners
Atsumi & Sakai, a leading Japanese law firm, has bolstered its Tokyo office by welcoming two new Partners. Akiko Hosokawa joins from Baker McKenzie (Gaikokuho Joint Enterprise), while Dio Inoue transitions from his role as Japanese Legal Head at American pharmaceutical company Guardant Health.
Hosokawa, who has been a Banking and Finance Partner at Baker McKenzie since 2006, brings extensive expertise in structured finance and financial regulation. Her practice also covers aviation and ship financing, alongside experience in digital platforms and financial technology.
Inoue brings over 20 years of in-house corporate experience. He has previously worked with Morgan Guaranty Trust Co. of New York, Société Générale Corporate and Investment Bank, and Chugai Pharmaceutical before leading the legal team at Guardant Health. Additionally, Inoue has served at Sidley Austin Nishikawa Foreign Law Joint Enterprise for two years.
This expansion follows earlier strategic hires by Atsumi & Sakai. In January, the firm added Banking and Finance specialist Atsushi Tabata from SMBC Nikko Securities. In March, Sri Lanka-qualified commercial Disputes Lawyer Damintha Pathirana also joined as a Partner.
The firm has also strengthened its international presence with the opening of a new office in Brussels this May.
