Ashurst Bolsters International Arbitration Practice with the addition of Philip Chong in London
Ashurst Bolsters International Arbitration Practice with the addition of Philip Chong in London
Ashurst, a renowned global law firm, has bolstered its international arbitration capabilities by welcoming Philip Chong, an esteemed international arbitration practitioner, as a new partner in its London office.
Philip Chong was previously a partner at DLA Piper, where he headed the International Arbitration Practice for Europe for the last six years. Philip's expertise lies in energy and infrastructure disputes, as well as engineering and technical matters. His appointment is scheduled for September 2023.
Tom Connor, the global co-head of Disputes, Investigations, and Advisory at Ashurst, expressed his delight in welcoming Philip Chong to the team.
"Philip's arrival reflects Ashurst's continued strategic focus on growing our disputes capability,” Connor said.
Matthew Saunders, global head of international arbitration at Ashurst, added: "I'm delighted to welcome Philip Chong to Ashurst and it is a particular pleasure to be working with him again after some years apart. He is a well-respected practitioner and a superb team leader. I'm confident he will be a great asset to the firm as we continue to expand our global International Arbitration team."
The recent addition of Philip Chong follows a series of other appointments, including Arne Fuchs, who joined the firm last year to lead their public international law and investment arbitration practice.
