A&O Shearman Enhances Debt Finance Practice With Filippo Crosara
A&O Shearman has bolstered its debt finance practice with the appointment of Filippo Crosara as a Partner in London.
Crosara, who joins from Barclays, will focus on lender-side leveraged finance work. With extensive experience in structuring, negotiating, and closing significant deals for financial sponsors and corporates, Crosara's addition aligns with a surge in global leveraged loan market activity.
Denise Gibson, A&O Shearman’s UK managing partner and debt finance partner, praised Crosara's extensive industry and market knowledge. "Fil brings over 18 years of experience in the legal and banking sectors, blending technical expertise with commercial insight," she said. Crosara's career includes nearly a decade as a managing director at Barclays, and prior roles at Clifford Chance in London and Milan.
Nick Clark, A&O Shearman's global co-head of debt finance, highlighted Crosara's strong market reputation. "Fil is well-respected by sponsors, lenders, and the broader market. His addition will further consolidate our leading position in European leveraged finance."
This strategic hire follows A&O's recent loss of two Debt Finance Lawyers, Vanessa Xu and Marwa Elborai, to Kirkland & Ellis, and the firm's merger with Shearman & Sterling in May, which created a transatlantic powerhouse with approximately $3.5 billion in combined revenue.
