Allen & Overy Boosts its Litigation Practice with the Addition of Adam Kowalczyk in Warsaw
He was previously serving at Bird & Bird as a partner
Allen & Overy (A&O) has announced the appointment of Adam Kowalczyk as a Partner in its Litigation Practice in Warsaw, Poland.
He has over 17 years of experience as a general commercial litigator, as well as a white-collar crime and investigations specialist.
Kowalczyk joins with a team of three professionals - counsel Grzegorz Kostrzewa and associates Jacek Becker and Mateusz Kosowicz.
The combined litigation team headed by partners Krystyna Szczepanowska-Kozłowska, Bartosz Merczyński, and Kowalczyk will comprise three partners, two counsels, and 15 associates.
Arkadiusz Pędzich, the Managing Partner of the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region and the Warsaw office remarked, “We are excited to welcome Kowalczyk to our team and to further expand our dispute resolution offering. His network and skills will enable us to serve our clients with the best service and solutions in this demanding and fast-changing market.”
Martin Magal, the head of the CEE Dispute Resolution Practice added, “Kowalczyk’s appointment reflects our strategic ambition to further grow our dispute resolution practice in Warsaw and in the CEE region. Kowalczyk and his team will bring a depth of expertise to our litigation, investigations, and white-collar crime offering.”
Kowalczyk stated, “I’m thrilled to join the Allen & Overy team. I look forward to bringing my expertise to its platform and client base and working with the reputable team in the Warsaw office and beyond.”
Previously serving at Bird & Bird as a partner since 2018, Kowalczyk acts for financial institutions, private and public companies from various sectors (infrastructure and transport, energy & utilities, chemicals, and heavy industry), local governments, state-owned entities, and high-net-worth individuals.
Apart from resolving complex commercial disputes, he specializes in internal inquiries, business fraud and corruption, money laundering, sanctions compliance, insider trading, and tax crimes.
