Al Tamimi & Company Merges with BK Law to Expand Its Reach in Oman
In a move that strengthens its foothold in Oman, Al Tamimi & Company, the region's leading law firm, has merged with local law firm BK Law. The merger adds nine experienced legal professionals to Al Tamimi's team, including Basma Al Kiyumi, the founder of BK Law, who joins as a Partner and Head of Dispute Resolution – Oman.
Basma Al Kiyumi is a well-respected figure within the Omani legal community, with a remarkable track record spanning more than 15 years in Dispute Resolution and various legal fields. She founded BK Law in 2016 and earned a reputation for excellence and professionalism, gaining the trust and respect of clients and peers. Basma will work closely alongside Ahmed Al Barwani, who leads the Oman office, to enhance Al Tamimi & Company's range of services and further extend its footprint in the nation.
Al Tamimi & Company, established in Muscat in 2013, has developed a deep understanding of Omani law and acquired substantial expertise across the country's key sectors. The merger with BK Law enhances Al Tamimi & Company's capabilities in key areas such as tourism and hospitality, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, education, fisheries and agriculture, energy and mining, and technology, media, and telecommunications. This aligns with Al Tamimi & Company's commitment to supporting Oman Vision 2040, an initiative to diversify the economy and foster growth and development opportunities.
“We are delighted to welcome Basma and her team to the firm. They bring with them a wealth of experience and expertise and a deep understanding of the Omani legal landscape. This merger reinforces our commitment to providing our clients with the best service and advice in Oman and across the region, and supports our ambitious vision, to be the leading law firm in the Middle East and North Africa,” Samer Qudah, Managing Partner at Al Tamimi & Company, said while expressing his enthusiasm for the merger.
Ahmed Al Barwani, Head of Al Tamimi & Company's Oman office, expressed his optimism about the merger, stating that the firm is proud of its solid foundation in Oman over the past decade and is confident that the merger will enhance its ability to serve clients across all sectors and practice areas.
“By joining forces with Basma and her team, we are adding more depth, diversity, and experience to our existing talent pool, and creating an even more compelling client proposition. We look forward to working together to achieve our shared goals and to contribute to the Oman Vision 2040,” Ahmed Al Barwani stated.
“I am delighted to be part of Al Tamimi and Company. Throughout my years of experience growing BK Law into a firm employing local talent at international standards, I look forward to joining my fellow colleagues at Al Tamimi and combining our energy and creativity with their resources and expertise towards building a track record of success and working at the forefront of legal developments across each of our practice areas in Oman,” Partner Basma Al Kiyumi, Partner and Head of Dispute Resolution – Oman, said, expressing her excitement about joining Al Tamimi & Company.
Al Tamimi & Company's Oman office offers a full range of corporate legal services to multinational corporations, local firms, family businesses, and financial institutions. Clients also benefit from the firm's extensive network across the Middle East and North Africa, which guarantees them access to high-quality legal expertise and services.
