Helmy, Hamza & Partners, Baker McKenzie Cairo, represented Afreximbank in $44 Million Aircraft Financing for CIAF Leasing
Helmy, Hamza & Partners, Baker McKenzie's Cairo office, provided legal counsel to the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) concerning its $44 million secured refinancing facility extended to CIAF Leasing, an Egyptian joint-stock company specializing in aircraft and equipment rental.
The aircraft refinancing facility is designed to support CIAF Leasing's current operations, growth trajectory, and expansion endeavors. The funding will play a vital role in CIAF Leasing's strategic plans, including the acquisition of three Embraer E-190 aircraft, which will significantly enhance the company's leasing operations and bolster its position in the aviation sector.
“We are honoured to have supported Afreximbank on its first aircraft financing in Egypt. The successful closing of this transaction is a testament of our incredible banking and finance capabilities and our deep understanding of the aviation industry. Congratulations to the Afreximbank team and all the stakeholders involved on this remarkable transaction," Baker McKenzie Cairo-based partner, Mohamed Elharmy said.
The Helmy, Hamza & Partners, Baker McKenzie Cairo team was led by partner Mohamed Elharmy with support from associates Ahmed Shehata and Nour Elhayatmy.
