White & Case Acted for Saudi oil major Aramco on China Project
The advice centres around Aramco's agreement with the Chinese Sinopec
White & Case LLP, the New York-based elite White Shoe International law firm, has advised Saudi Aramco, the Saudi Arabian Oil Company, on its heads of an agreement with Sinopec (Chinese Petroleum & Chemical Corporation).
White & Case advised Aramco on the agreement to build a greenfield refinery and petroleum project at Gulei in Fujian province situated in southeastern China.
The project will have the capacity to refine 320,000 barrels per day (16 million metric tonnes per year), in addition to the facility of 1.5 million metric tonnes per year ethylene.
The White & Case team involved in advising Saudi Aramco on the transaction was led by its two partners based in Singapore and Shanghai, Saul Daniel and Vivian Tsoi respectively.
The team also consisted of the Singapore-based counsel Ee Lynn Tann, Shanghai-based senior legal consultant Amy Yang, and associates Nettie Choo (Singapore) and Charlie Zhu (Shanghai).
The Aramco-Sinopec project is expected to start commercial operations in 2025.
