Osborne Clarke represented Morrison & Co on the Spanish telecom joint venture investment deal
Osborne Clarke represented Morrison & Co on the Spanish telecom joint venture investment deal
Osborne Clarke, the London headquartered international law firm, has acted for global infrastructure investment firm, Morrison & Co, with its joint venture with Swiss Life Asset Managers and AXA Investment Management to acquire lyntia Networks.
Morrison & Co, Swiss Life, and AXA made the move to acquire lyntia, a Madrid-based telecom service provider, in 2022. Osborne Clarke acted for Morrison & Co with its 33.3 per cent investment stake in the Spanish open-access wholesale fibre operator.
Sarah Knight and Hannah Maidment advised Morrison & Co in the deal for Osborne Clarke.
The new shareholders will continue to support the delivery of lyntia's service in providing nationwide neutral connectivity across Spain.
Lyntia is a leading provider of dark fibre and capacity circuit wholesale services to operators and utility companies in the Spanish telecom sector, meeting the increasing demand for connectivity services driven by fast-growing 5G sites, data centres, and landing stations across the country.
With this investment, the Wellington-headquartered Morrison & Co, an international specialist alternative asset management company that focuses primarily on infrastructure, private equity, and property investment, has added to its impressive existing digital infrastructure portfolio.
Morris & Co's digital portfolio includes investments in Vodafone New Zealand, Fore Freedom in the Netherlands, Kao Data in the UK, CDC Data Centres, and Amplitel towers in Australia.
This deal further solidifies Osborne Clarke's corporate team's position as a go-to practice for companies undergoing digital transformation. The team advises at every stage of company development across all corporate issues, from equity and debt fundraisings to M&A, IPOs, and JVs.
