Osborne Clarke Advised Schwabe Group To Obtain Majority Stake In Braineffects
It has now increased its existing shares and holds a two-thirds majority
Osborne Clarke has advised Schwabe Group to acquire a majority stake in Braineffect, a provider of dietary supplements and functional foods.
While aiming for a complete takeover of the Berlin start-up, its founder Fabian Foelsch will remain on board as the Managing Director.
Schwabe has now increased its existing shares in Braineffect and holds a two-thirds majority.
Speaking on the development, Olaf Schwabe, the CEO of Schwabe said, “This partnership is more than an acquisition – it is a statement for the future. We are expanding our target groups and looking beyond the traditional health market.”
Schwabe Group is a globally active, family-run corporate group involved in research & development, manufacturing, and distribution of herbal and homeopathic medicines, and dietary supplements.
Founded in Leipzig, Germany, in 1866, with headquarters in Karlsruhe, the corporate group currently employs 4,000 people worldwide, including 1,600 in Germany.
Meanwhile, Braineffect develops dietary supplements and functional foods.
It was founded in 2016 by former athlete Fabian Foelsch. The Berlin-based company relies on scientifically-backed formulations with natural ingredients. The products are sold online shop in Germany and in dm and Budni stores.
The Osborne Clarke team advising Schwabe was led by Till-Manuel Saur.
