Nishimura & Asahi Advised Honda Motor Co., Ltd. On Sale Of Shares In Atsumitec Co., Ltd. To Samvardhana Motherson International Limited
Nishimura & Asahi advised Honda Motor Co., Ltd. [TSE: 7267 and NYSE: HMC] on a series of transactions involving the sale of shares in Atsumitec Co., Ltd. to Samvardhana Motherson International Limited (SAMIL), an India-based automotive parts manufacturer.
As part of the transaction, Honda—formerly a major shareholder in Atsumitec—participated in a buy-back of shares by Atsumitec, while other shareholders sold their stakes to a wholly owned subsidiary of SAMIL. Following the transaction, SAMIL now holds a 95% stake in Atsumitec, with Honda retaining 5%.
