Nishimura & Asahi Acted on Dai-ichi Life’s Acquisition of Benefit One
Nishimura & Asahi Acted on Dai-ichi Life’s Acquisition of Benefit One
Nishimura & Asahi, a prominent Japanese law firm, provided legal counsel to Dai-ichi Life Holdings, a major life insurance company in Japan, regarding its substantial 2.9-trillion-yen ($2 billion) acquisition of the healthcare platform Benefit One. The latter was represented by Mori Hamada & Matsumoto.
Dai-ichi, recognising the challenges posed by Japan’s declining population, has been diversifying its business beyond insurance. This strategic move aims to strengthen its foothold in the market.
The Nishimura & Asahi team, led by partners Yamato Nozawa and Junya Kokaji, played a pivotal role in facilitating this significant transaction.
On the other side, the Mori Hamada & Matsumoto team, comprising partners Takeshi Okuyama, Hideki Ben, Yasutaka Hosaka, Yuma Yoshikawa and Takaya Tachi, represented Benefit One during the acquisition process.
