Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy Advised MAFI On USD 108 Million Syndicated Loan
Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy Advised MAFI On USD 108 Million Syndicated Loan
Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy (MBH) served as Legal Counsel to MAFI for Agricultural Produce Industries (MAFI) in securing a long-term syndicated loan of up to USD 108 million. The financing was arranged by Banque Misr, Al Baraka Bank Egypt, and the Suez Canal Bank to support the development of MAFI's agri-food operations.
The loan will fund the establishment of a modern factory complex in Sadat City, designed to produce fruit and vegetable concentrates and frozen products. This project aligns with Egypt's vision of localizing its agricultural industry through advanced technologies and value-added national products. Once operational, the facility will export 100% of its output to global markets, including Europe, the United States, Gulf countries, and Japan.
The MBH team advising on the transaction was led by Mahmoud Bassiouny, Regional Managing Partner and Group Head of Finance & Projects, and included Senior Associate Iman Nassar.
