Latham & Watkins advised Chimera Investments on creation of ChimHaeres
Latham & Watkins advised Chimera Investments on creation of ChimHaeres
Initially, the focus would be on Italy, France, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom
Latham & Watkins has advised Chimera Investments, Abu Dhabi, on its equal joint venture with Haeres Capital to create ChimHaeres Investment Holding, an investment vehicle that will deploy its capital towards the acquisition and expansion of luxury and lifestyle brands.
Recently, ChimHaeres fulfilled the acquisition of a majority stake in Zagato, the iconic Italian coachbuilder and car designer, founded in 1919. Simultaneously, it acquired 100 percent of Vionnet, the French haute couture label founded in 1912 by iconic couturier Madeleine Vionnet.
Additionally, ChimHaeres agreed on an investment for a majority stake in Fogal, the Swiss fashion hosiery brand founded in 1921. It also contributed to a majority equity stake in Borsalino, the world-famous hat manufacturer established in 1857 in Italy.
Through these investments, ChimHaeres intends to accelerate its growth with a focus on international expansion, digital transformation, and sustainability.
The Latham & Watkins team was led by Dubai partner Eyad Latif and counsel Omar Maayeh, with associates Farah El-Masri and Rehab Abdelwaheb.
