Herbert Smith Freehills acted for JP Morgan and RBC in £100m Infrastructure Fundraising
Herbert Smith Freehills, a prominent global law firm, guided JP Morgan Cazenove and RBC Capital Markets, the joint bookrunners and placing agents, for the recent placement of shares for 3i Infrastructure plc. The placement was finalised on February 14, 2023, and involved the issuance of 30,915,990 new ordinary shares at 330 pence per share, resulting in net proceeds of £100 million.
3i Infrastructure is a company listed on the FTSE 250 and based in Jersey that specialises in investing in mid-market economic infrastructure projects in developed markets. The company places particular emphasis on investments in the UK and Europe.
Tom O'Neill, co-head of equity corporate finance and head of US securities based in London, along with corporate partner Nigel Farr, led the team at Herbert Smith Freehills and provided legal assistance. The team was further supported by senior associate Ben Tooms, as well as associates Gaelen Perrone and Megan O'Shea.
"We are pleased to have supported the placing agents and 3i Infrastructure on this equity placing that will enable the company to pursue further investment opportunities within its current portfolio and beyond," Tom O'Neill said.
