Greenberg Traurig Advised Echo Investment in Joint Venture
Greenberg Traurig Advised Echo Investment in Joint Venture
Prominent multinational law firm Greenberg Traurig successfully advised Echo Investment in signing joint venture agreements with Signal Capital Partners (majority shareholder) and Griffin Capital Partners. This venture establishes a new investment platform dedicated to developing, constructing, and selling modern student housing across major Polish academic centres.
The ambitious development plan aims to deliver at least 5,000 student beds within the next three to five years. The first projects in Warsaw and Krakow are expected to launch in September 2025, subject to regulatory approvals.
Greenberg Traurig’s team, co-led by Local Partners Klaudia Królak and Kamil Majewski, provided comprehensive legal counsel throughout the process. Senior Associate Agnieszka Gul-Czajkowska and Associate Jakub Gajzler offered additional support. Partner Robert Gago and Senior Associate Filip Drgas ensured compliance with competition regulations. Deputy Managing Partner Radomił Charzyński oversaw the entire transaction.
“Congratulations to Echo Investment on completing another investment in the local student housing sector, which has immense potential as the Polish student market is one of the largest in Europe. I believe this presents an excellent opportunity for the rapid development and expansion of the newly established platform, contributing to the evolution of the student housing sector in Poland,” said Radomił Charzyński.
Echo Investment, a Polish property developer specialising in residential, retail, and office spaces, listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) since 1996 and part of the sWIG80 index, joined forces with Signal Capital Partners, a London-based private asset management firm with €2.5 billion in assets under management, focusing on European corporate and real estate special situations investments.
