Freshfields advised CVC Capital Partners in strategic partnership with Women's Tennis Association
Freshfields advised CVC Capital Partners in strategic partnership with Women's Tennis Association
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, a Magic Circle law firm, provided legal counsel to CVC Capital Partners (CVC) on CVC Funds’ recent partnership with the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), continuing the law firm's longstanding relationship with the private equity firm.
The aim of the new partnership between CVC Funds and the WTA is to enhance the already-established 50-year legacy of the WTA and drive greater commercial growth in women’s tennis. This will benefit stakeholders across the sport, including players, fans, and tournaments.
With over 25 years of experience investing in sports, CVC has an impressive track record with previous and current investments in a variety of sports including Formula 1, Moto GP, Rugby, the French Football League, La Liga, Volleyball, and IPL Cricket.
CVC's broad international network of 25 local offices across Europe, Australasia, and the Americas will also be available to support the partnership's objective of accelerating the commercial growth of women's tennis.
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer's team is comprised of Charles Hayes, David Brooks, Valerie Ford Jacob, and Alex Collins.
