Freshfields acted for Grünenthal on €500 million Financing to Extend Existing Credit Facility
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, an international law firm headquartered in London, has guided Grünenthal Pharma GmbH & Co. KG on a €500 million amend and extend financing transaction.
The financing, being provided by an international banking syndicate, will be utilised for upsizing and extension of Grünenthal’s existing revolving credit facility.
Grünenthal, headquartered in Aachen, Germany, is a prominent global leader in treating pain and associated disorders. It is a fully integrated pharmaceutical company that relies on science and innovation to bring groundbreaking treatments and cutting-edge technologies to patients across the world.
Grünenthal operates in 28 countries throughout Europe, Latin America, and the United States, with its products being distributed in nearly 100 countries. The company employs around 4,400 individuals and generated stand-alone sales of roughly €1.7 billion in 2022.
Freshfields provided comprehensive legal guidance to Grünenthal on all aspects of the transaction. The firm's Frankfurt finance team, including partners Frank Laudenklos and Michael Josenhans, counsel Alexander Pospisil, and associates Lucas Lengersdorf and Alexander Bräuer, played a key role in the transaction.
The firm’s legal team worked closely at Grünenthal led by general counsel Sebastian Köhler and senior legal counsel Sabine König.
