DLA Piper Advised Digital Edge in its Investment in Indonet
DLA Piper Advised Digital Edge in its Investment in Indonet
DLA Piper, a global law firm, supported market-leading data centre provider Digital Edge (Singapore) Holdings Pte. Ltd. (Digital Edge) in acquiring the remaining 33 per cent stake in Indonesian digital infrastructure company PT Indointernet Tbk (Indonet). This transaction enhances Digital Edge's existing majority ownership in Indonet.
In a follow-up to its 2021 acquisition of a controlling stake, Digital Edge, through one of its subsidiaries, has fully acquired Indonet now from the company's founders. This off-exchange transaction, funded by Digital Edge capital and external debt, positions them to leverage Indonet's dark fibre, cloud, and network assets to expand their colocation service offerings.
Across Asia Pacific, Digital Edge constructs and manages cutting-edge, energy-efficient data centres teeming with connectivity solutions. They cater to the diverse needs of the digital landscape, from tailored enterprise solutions to massive hyper-scale deployments. Spanning six countries - China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, and the Philippines - Digital Edge offers colocation data centres and interconnection services throughout the region.
For over 25 years, Indonet has been helping businesses unlock their full potential by providing advanced digital infrastructure solutions that fuel their digital transformation.
The transaction was spearheaded by Joe Bauerschmidt, Corporate Partner and Co-Country Managing Partner in Singapore, alongside Singapore-based Corporate Associate Miftahul Ari Khairi. Financing components were handled by Partner Matthias Schemuth (Singapore) and Senior Associate Naomi Hong (Hong Kong), supported by Associate Schiller Cowley and Legal Assistant Emily Wan (both Hong Kong) from the Finance, Projects and Restructuring practice.
“It has been a pleasure working with such a strong deal team at Digital Edge once again, assisting them in closing another complex deal in a very tight timeline. This deal cements DLA Piper Singapore’s expertise in the high-value digital infrastructure space within the region,” Joe Bauerschmidt said while commenting on the transaction.
For the past five years, DLA Piper has served as Digital Edge's trusted legal partner across seven Asian jurisdictions, navigating complex legal landscapes with expertise.
