Dentons LuatViet and Dentons Rodyk jointly advised the largest healthcare deal in South-East Asia
The US$400 million transaction was finalized in Singapore recently and marked a significant milestone in Vietnamese healthcare
Dentons LuatViet and Dentons Rodyk have acted for the SGX-listed Thomson Medical Group (TMG) in the healthcare acquisition in South-East Asia with the purchase of Vietnam’s biggest healthcare group, FV Hospital.
The acquisition has set a record as Vietnam's largest healthcare deal to date and represents the most substantial healthcare purchase since 2020, in South-East Asia.
Under the agreement, TMG will acquire 100 percent ownership of Far East Medical Vietnam Limited, which operates a range of healthcare facilities in Vietnam, including the renowned FV Hospital and a network of primary and specialist clinics.
TMG plans to finance the acquisition through a combination of internal resources, external borrowings from financial institutions, and debt capital markets.
FV Hospital has earned a reputation not only among Vietnamese and foreign residents, but also as the preferred choice for patients in Vietnam, Laos, and Myanmar. The hospital is one of the top choices for overseas medical treatment for affluent Cambodians.
Tran Duy Canh, the managing partner at Dentons LuatViet emphasized, "We extend our heartfelt appreciation and congratulations to all parties involved in making this landmark deal a reality. We also acknowledge the contributions of the other advisors who closely collaborated with us throughout this transformative journey."
