Barakat, Maher & Partners in association with Clyde & Co Advised Saint-Gobain on Acquisition of Drymix
Barakat, Maher & Partners in association with Clyde & Co Advised Saint-Gobain on Acquisition of Drymix
Barakat, Maher & Partners in association with Clyde & Co played a crucial advisory role in guiding Saint-Gobain's 100 per cent acquisition of United Paints and Chemicals S.A.E. ("Drymix").
Drymix is a prominent manufacturer of ready-mix mortars, serving the construction industry in Egypt.
Saint-Gobain is a leading company involved in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of materials and services for the construction and industrial sectors. It has maintained a presence in Egypt since 2006, operating seven manufacturing plants.
On the other hand, Drymix, established in 1997, has emerged as a prominent and well-known provider of ready-mix mortars in Egypt. Over the years, Drymix has built a strong reputation and a wide-ranging portfolio of products, services, and training programs for craftsmen in the country.
The team from Barakat, Maher & Partners in association with Clyde & Co was spearheaded by partners Mohamed Barakat and Sameh Dahroug. They were supported by senior associate Moataz El Sherbini, as well as trainees Rana Ghorab and Dalya Mahmoud.
“We are delighted to have supported Saint-Gobain on this strategic transaction which is in line with their growth strategy in Egypt. Acting as lead external legal counsel, our effective collaboration and extensive experience enabled us to reach a successful outcome on this complex transaction,” Mohamed Barakat stated.
