Osborne Clarke Advised EnjoyVenture On Kynda’s €3 Million Seed Financing Round

Osborne Clarke Advised EnjoyVenture on Kynda’s €3 Million Seed Financing Round
Osborne Clarke advised EnjoyVenture on the €3 million seed financing round of Kynda, a German biotech start-up focused on innovative mycoprotein production. The round was led by EnjoyVenture’s Invest-Impuls Scale Fund, with participation from PHW Group and Clima Now.
Founded in 2019 by Daniel MacGowan and Franziskus Schnabel, Kynda converts food industry by-products into protein-rich, fiber-rich ingredients using fermentation technology. The start-up utilizes mycelium, the root-like structure of fungi, to develop sustainable food and animal feed solutions.
With this investment, Kynda plans to expand its facility in Jelmstorf, scheduled to open later this year.
EnjoyVenture’s team commented on the investment, said: "We are excited to partner with PHW Group, one of Europe’s largest meat producers. Together, we aim to leverage Kynda's innovative fermentation technology and PHW’s industry expertise to drive sustainable solutions and create new opportunities in the alternative protein space."
The Osborne Clarke team advising EnjoyVenture was led by Fabian Mimberg (Partner) and Dr. Benjamin Monheim (Partner), with key contributions from: Corporate / VC: Victor Robertz; Commercial: Christoph Boeminghaus, Nikolaos Xenidis; IP: Dr. Johannes Graf Ballestrem, Robert Briske
