DLA Piper Advised Solengy In Procuring US$13.5 Million For Solar Investment Projects

DLA Piper advised Solengy in procuring US$13.5 million for solar investment projects
DLA Piper has advised leading solar energy company, Solengy Haiti S.A. (Solengy), in procuring US$13.5 million from member of the World Bank Group, IFC, and the private sector arm of the Inter- American Development Bank, IDB Invest.
Solengy aims to help transform the Haitian energy sector and support installation of 10 MWp of solar PV and 20 MWh of storage, plus expand the role of distributed generation in the market with this investment. Reliable energy will be provided by Solengy, improving economic competitiveness by providing businesses with a more reliable and cost-effective energy supply.
“This investment helps pave the way for increased electricity in Haiti, a vital resource that remains crucial for a nation that has faced so many profound challenges. It was an honor to advise Solengy on an opportunity that will provide a significant impact for the Haitian community,” Margarita Oliva Sainz de Aja, the DLA Piper partner who led the deal team, reportedly said.
