Baker McKenzie Advised Fakieh Poultry Farms In Strategic Sale Of Stake In Al Tazaj Fakieh BBQ

Baker McKenzie Advised Fakieh Poultry Farms in Strategic Sale of Stake in Al Tazaj Fakieh BBQ
Baker McKenzie has advised Fakieh Poultry Farms Co. ("Fakieh"), a leading player in Saudi Arabia’s poultry industry, on the sale of 30% of its stake in Al Tazaj Fakieh BBQ Chicken Company ("Al Tazaj"), the renowned operator of Al Tazaj restaurants. The transaction was finalized in December 2024.
Baker McKenzie provided comprehensive legal support, leveraging its deep expertise in mergers and acquisitions to ensure a seamless and successful transaction. Despite the expedited timeline, the firm guided Fakieh through the legal complexities of the deal, working alongside ANB Capital, the lead financial adviser.
Al Tazaj remains a privately held company, with Fakieh Poultry Farms Co. retaining majority ownership. Established in 1989 with its first restaurant in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, the brand has grown significantly, now operating 110 locations across the Middle East. Karim Nassar, Managing Partner at Baker McKenzie in Saudi Arabia, stated: "We are honored to have supported Fakieh Poultry Farms Co alongside ANB Capital who were lead advisers on this significant transaction. The sale of shares in Al Tazaj Fakieh BBQ Chicken Company marks a pivotal moment for Fakieh as they continue to grow and diversify their operations. We are thrilled to see this deal successfully completed."
Stephanie Samuell, Corporate M&A Partner at Baker McKenzie, also commented: "The transaction underscores the strong appetite for investment in Saudi Arabia's thriving F&B sector. Working with our client and ANB Capital team on this deal was a rewarding experience especially as we were able to complete the Transaction within an expedited 8- week timeframe. We look forward to seeing the continued success of Fakieh in the years to come."
The Baker McKenzie team advising on this deal was led by Managing Partners Karim Nassar and Stephanie Samuell and included Associate Rami Younes, Partner Robert Eastwood, Senior Associate Yousef Bugaighis, Senior Associate Carlo Colussi, Associate Thamer Al Zayer, and Trainee Associate Fatima Ashri.
