Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia appointed Acting Chief Justice of Punjab & Haryana High Court

The development follows the appointment of former Acting CJ Ritu Bahri as Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court

The Central Government has notified the appointment of Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia as the Acting Chief Justice of the Punjab & Haryana High Court.

Justice Singh was elevated to the bench on 30 September 2011 as an additional judge of the Punjab & Haryana High Court and was made permanent on 24 January 2014.

His father also served as the Chief Justice of the Punjab & Haryana High Court from 1978-1983 and the Patna High Court from 1983-1987.
