Centre Notifies Appointment of Dharmesh Sharma as an Additional Judge of Delhi High Court
The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the appointment of Judicial Officer Dharmesh Sharma as an Additional Judge of the Delhi High Court.
The notification released on the website of Law Ministry read, “In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Dharmesh Sharma to be an Additional Judge of Delhi High Court, for a period of two years, with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.”
The name of Dharmesh Sharma was recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium on 12th April. His name was recommended along with the names of two other judicial officers, Girish Kathpalia and Manoj Jain.
Both of them were appointed by the Centre on 27th April.
The Collegium with respect to Dharmesh Sharma said, “We have considered the inputs provided by the Intelligence Bureau. The inputs of the Intelligence Bureau are evaluated in conjunction with the opinion of consultee judges who have with their long years of experience in the High Court of Delhi observed the conduct and work performance of the officer.”
The Collegium also said that the Judgment Evaluation Committee has graded judgments authored by Dharmesh Sharma as ‘Outstanding.’
