Legal Era Middle East Law Awards 2021-2022
Legal Era - Legal Media Group is proud to bring you the 3rd Annual Legal Era Middle East Law Awards 2021-2022 on 08th December 2022 at 5.30 PM GST (GMT+4) onwards in Dubai, UAE. And this time, it will be bigger and better!
The Middle East landscape this past year has been a hot pan for opportunities and hope. The oil-based Gulf States have always proven to be an important regional trade hub presenting geographically strategic opportunities to access Africa, South Asia, and Europe. Additionally, they are also a credible launch pad for businesses! These states have evolved well beyond offering a geographic advantage via exports and investments and a vibrant fintech scene.
And just as every economy was struck by the pandemic, yes, Covid-19 did not spare the black gold. High dependence on oil resources, tourism, and remittances did make the region vulnerable. A significant loss in indirect taxes and increased borrowing could have been a double whammy. One of the most difficult measures was to reduce employment across all sectors - a potential source of instability. That was where the legal sector stepped in to fill up the gaps and balm the wounds. Where there are voluminous deals, projects, systemic shifts, and investments, there are disputes and a need for expert legal assistance.
Deal or no deal, the legal sector shines. The Middle East has been a key market for global business attracting major international players from all commercial and industrial sectors. When these players enter high-value deals, projects, and investments, there is an automatic need to comply with the law. Today, the emerging practice areas make the Middle East one of the most active and interesting regions to work in as a lawyer. Equally important is the need to adopt technology to create affordable legal practices and encourage lawyer collaboration with other functions. The competition and the clients demand greater efficiency in legal services. And lawyers who deliver services in a slick, agile, and user-friendly way – are reaping rich benefits.
So here we are, ready to recognize and acknowledge those who have capitalized on these trends, adapted to the changing requirements, and engaged with technology to their advantage.
And this is where we, at Legal Era, come in. Last year, we organized the second annual Middle East Law Awards virtually. We came across law firms who, braving their wounds of the pandemic, were recognized for their tireless efforts and sheer dedication. We made sure all types and sizes of firms and their teams, big or small, are awarded for their hard work and resilience such firms winning the title of ‘Emerging Law Firm of the Year’, ‘International Law Firm of The Year,’ and many more.
Submissions Open. The Awards are categorized as: Law Firms, In-House, Individual, to reflect the painstaking work undertaken by law firms, legal teams, and legal practitioners in the Middle East. The selection criteria include service type and range, business type and operation, and individual/team expertise, among others.
As is with all Legal Era Awards, we follow an intense methodology for selection. The team will conduct extensive and exhaustive research that will assess the leading regional and domestic law firms in the Middle East region and reward the deserving ones, rightfully. This will then be passed on to a panel of judges, an accomplished and independent fleet of stalwarts of the legal industry and academia. They will examine the information and churn out unbiased ranks. From here, only the finest and earning finalists will be filtered through another rigorous layer of study.
And there you have it, the superstars Eminent Professionals, Legal Teams, and Law Firms who have been shining brightly through thick and thin from the Middle East.
Just like the previous awards, this too will be the most coveted certificate of competence in the legal industry but the yardstick for judging competence will be taller this time. We will recognize legal finesse, innovation, and accomplishments of private practitioners, in-house counsel, and law firms in the Middle East. They will be recognized for their impeccable contribution to the world of law and business over 2021-22.
The high-profile virtual awards ceremony will be attended by global legal luminaries including law firm partners, corporate counsel, legal heads and lawyers, and members of the academia and press. No doubt, this is also a perfect platform to network and establish your visibility which is especially critical in today’s hybrid working and dynamically changing times.
