Dr. Prabuddha Ganguli
Prof. Dr Prabuddha Ganguli is CEO, VISION-IPR, which offers services in management of Intellectual Property Rights and Knowledge Management. He completed his PhD in TIFR in Chemical Physics and then was awarded the Alexander Von Humboldt Fellowship in 1977 to conduct his post-doctoral research in Germany. He was a Research Fellow at the University of Windsor, Canada after which he was Visiting Scientist at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre for a brief period. For the next 2 decades, he served in industry in diverse managerial roles such as research scientist, R&D management, strategic management of IPR in businesses, management of factories, implementation of technology transfer, knowledge management systems in business, managing corporate information security and corporate planning.
He is a leading expert on IPR and an adviser on Innovation & IPR Policy to several governments. He has been a Consultant to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) for over 2 decades on programmes related to National IPR Policy Development and IPR Capacity Building in various countries. He has been advising Indian and multinational corporate houses to create and execute comprehensive strategies to maximize their IPR assets. He is a member of the Board of Intellectual Property Law Practitioners’ Association (IPLPA) in India and a member of the International Editorial Board of the Elsevier Journal “World Patent Information”.
He has been mentoring various institutions in India and abroad to achieve sustainable academic excellence, He was Honorary Consultant for Innovation and IPR matters to the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser, Government of India from 2005 to 2017.
In February 2011, he was awarded "The Chemtech Pharma-Bio World Award for outstanding contribution in the field of Intellectual Property" and in 2014, the legal fraternity in India under the banner of “LEGAL ERA” honored him with “The Lifetime Achievement Award”. On November 30, 2023, LEGAL ERA honoured him in the category of “IP Legends” as “IP Strategist of the Year 2023”.
