Priyanka V. Chaudhari is the Director, Litigation, Content Grievances & Intellectual Property at Netflix India. She joined Netflix in May 2019, with a motto to ensure that the content created is legally defensible in the Indian courts while protecting the creators’ vision. She did a bachelor’s in Legal Science and Law from Mumbai University and started her professional career by joining the law firm Vigil Juris. Here Priyanka learned various aspects of the law including litigation, drafting commercial agreements, preparing case for opinions, trademark assignments, mergers & acquisitions and due diligence for conveyance deeds. She worked at Deval Patel Associates and Bharti AXA Life Insurance Company Limited before figuring out her passion for the media and entertainment laws. It was her tenure at Jar Entertainment, a production company that produced films for film studios where she learned the nuances of the content production side of law and business. This was her true calling. Her tenure at Star India, Zee Entertainment and Balaji Telefilms added an altogether different flavour to her achievements.
