Parveen Mahtani is the Chief Legal Officer at Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited. Her legal work includes mergers and acquisitions, conducting due diligence, contract management, intellectual property rights and financial transactions. She graduated from the Government Law College, Mumbai, and went on to first work at Desai & Diwanji, followed by Nishith Desai Associates. Later, she headed in-house to the Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services Limited and then Lodha Developers.
Subsequently, Parveen joined the Wadia Group and then the Tata Housing Development Company and Tata Realty and Infrastructure Company Limited, where she was Head - legal and compliance.
She conceptualised ‘Amwizer-Knowledge by Experience,’ an initiative, where industry experts speak to young adults to share knowledge, inspire and motivate them to become go-getters. She is an independent director at the World Youth Summit, a member of the United Nations Global Compact.
With over two decades of experience, Parveen is a gold medallist in Law. She bagged the Women in Law Award for Exceptional Legal Service in Law by Legal Era (2020). She has received the Excellence Award for Exemplary Service – Legal by the International Leadership Development Council and the Academy of Management Professionals at the Women Excellence Awards (2020).
She was honoured as the Woman Leader in a Male-Dominated Industry (2019) and has also been acknowledged as one of Asia’s Top 25 In-House Counsels by the Asian Legal Business. She was featured inthe top In-House legal teams by Legal 500 UK: GC Powerlist: India (2017 and 2019). She has also been honoured as Top 25 General Counsels in India by the ICCA in London (2018) and was featured by the Indian Corporate Counsel Association in their book, ‘India’s Finest In-House Counsels’, published in 2016.
